Willie Jackson “Bub” Crawley


Willie Jackson “Bub” Crawley, 77, of the Branham Grove Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Wednesday, September 9, 1936, the son of the late Willie V. and Sarah Vincent Crawley. He was a professed Christian, a U.S. Army Veteran and a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mabel Cecil Crawley, whom he wed on Friday, October 24, 1958, his sisters, Ermon Scott and Mabel Sells, his brothers, Kenneth Crawley and an infant baby brother, his nephew, Randal Sells and his nieces, Cheryl Crawley and infant girl Scott.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wilda Ann and Harold Kempton of Burkesville, his sisters, Albie Scott of Burkesville and Anna Marie (and J.D.) Wright of Burkesville, his nieces, Randa (and Frank) Wright, Deanna (and Millard) Willis, Jana (and J.R.) Thacker, Lucille Garner and Wanda Wright, his great-nephews, Jeremy (and Devona) Wright and Tyler Thacker, his great-nieces, Amanda (and Ricky) Fletcher and Melita (and Allen) Schuenaman and special friends, Larry Flowers and Clifford Riddle.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Nyman Claywell and Bro. Bobby Withers officiating. Burial was in the Modoc Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Mosby, Larry Craig, Cecil H. Dyer, Cecil H. Garmon, Kenny Ralston, Norman Dale Asberry, Rondal Thrasher, Lyle Stalcup, Carl Spears, Boyd Alexander, Elwood “Shot Gun” Anderson, Earl Rush, Jimmy Perry and Beaver Daniels. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Elmore, Larry Flowers, Clifford Riddle, Bobby Joe Davidson, Edward Anderson, Andrew Ledbetter, Jerry Gilbert, Gerard Hoots, Shannon Bow, Charlie Combs, Dr. Samuel Rice, Chad Vincent, Gary Anderson and Dale Cross.
