Willie “Billy” Brewington, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Louisville V.A. Medical Center. Billy was born on December 8, 1938 in Cumberland County, Kentucky to the late Marvin and Nannie Clyde Spear Brewington. He was retired from Armour Foods after 30 years of service and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Paul Brewington, Jewell Smith, Lyle Simpson Brewington, Keith Brewington and Robert Brewington.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Brewington of Louisville, two sons, Bruce Stolsworth and his wife Danette of Salisbury, North Carolina and Scott Brewington of Louisville, one daughter, Brenda Watts and her husband Daniel of LaGrange, three brothers, Kenneth Brewington and Reid Brewington and his wife Nancy, all of Burkesville and Fred Brewington of Indianapolis, Indiana, two sisters, Gertie Collins of Burkesville and Pearl Janes and her husband Noah of Hodgenville, seven grandchildren, Patrick Lengenfelter, Bailey Stolsworth, Payne Stolsworth, Julie Ann Brewington, Jared Brewington, Nathaniel(Jenna)Watts, Rebecca(Donald)Shuck, four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Special singing by Daniel Watts. Congregational singing led by Tom Watson. Burial was in Dodson Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow D.A.V. Chapter 20. Pallbearers were Harold Poindexter, David Poindexter, Bill Stratton, Randall Page, Ricky Bledsoe and Noah Janes. Honorary pallbearers were George Elmore, Grayson Bledsoe, Danny Bledsoe and Bobby Hall.
