Violet Sue Pharris Spaulding of Covington, Kentucky, formerly of Butler, Kentucky and Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky, having attained the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 9 days. She was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Monday, February 15, 1937, the daughter of the late Clarence Otis and Arnie Flo Claywell Pharris. She was a Christian, a member of East Side Christian Church in Butler, Kentucky, a retired nurse’s aide with Visiting Angels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy “Country” Pharris, and her sister, Shirley Rump.
She is survived by her daughters, Mona (and Omar) Lewis of Glencoe, Cynthia “Rene” (and Ken) Guenther of Hebron, her son, Scott (and Nichole) Lewis of Florence, her sisters, Maggie (and Richard) Claywell of Louisville, Thelma Irwin of Albany, her ex-husband, Waymon Lewis of Dry Ridge, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchldren.
The funeral service was conducted on Friday, January 26 2018, at The Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron, Kentucky with Rev. Will Stevens and Rev. Jesse Henderson officiating. A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Booher Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky with Ken Guenther officiating. Burial was in the Booher Cemetery.
