Ruth Hagan Fletcher


Ruth Hagan Fletcher, 79, of the Big Renox Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. She was born in the Coffer Community of Metcalfe County, Kentucky on Friday, July 20, 1934, the daughter of the late Isaac Ramie and Amy Jessie Hagan. She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Christian Church and the White Hill Community Church. She was a seamstress for Bob Evans Manufacturing Corporation and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Fletcher, whom she married on Wednesday, October 11, 1950, her daughters, Donna Gail Fletcher and Carolyn Hoots, her brothers, Fred Hagan and Kenneth Hagan, her sister, Arminda Fudge and her son-in-law, Ronnie Hoots.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Freddie Akin of Burkesville and Beverly and Don McClard of Glasgow, her grandchildren, Jerrod and Cheryl Akin, Diane Akin and Ryan Wigginton, Shana and Timmy Turner, her great-grandchildren, Michelle Wray and Spincer Wray.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Patton and Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial was in the White Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jimmy Hagan, Dean Hagan, Nolan Fudge, Ronnie Fudge, Larry Fudge, Garry Fudge, Gabe Calendar and Billy Joe Gibson.
