Marshal “Dump” Vibbert


Marshall Eugene “Dump” Vibbert, of Marrowbone, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, having attained the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 3 days. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Saturday, May 30, 1953, the son of Joe Lewis and Mary Shaw Vibbert. He was of Church of Christ faith, a lifelong farmer and a member of the Marrowbone Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Dyer Vibbert, his son, Marshall Lewis Vibbert, his daughter, Teresa Lynn Slaughter, his brothers, Marvin Vibbert, Marlin Vibbert, Ezra Vibbert, Elton Moon Vibbert, and his sisters, Lana Turner and Onell Davis.

He is survived by his children, Tamera Burris of Marrowbone, Marsha (and Eddie) Branham of Burkesville, Nancy (and Chris) Conrad of Marrowbone, Johnny (and Penny) Vibbert of Summer Shade, Amanda Lee Vibbert of Summer Shade, Greg (and Jamie) Vibbert of Marrowbone, Mark (and Leslie) Vibbert of Burkesville, his brothers and sister, Rev. Lynn (and Brenda) Farlee of Auburn, Roy Farlee of Marrowbone, Jay Vibbert of Burkesville, Ray (and Dot) Vibbert of Albany, Kay (and Sue) Vibbert of Burkesville, Susan Theobald of Martinsville, Indiana, 13 grandchildren, Jonathan Branham, Jason Branham, Jamie Branham, Elizabeth Vibbert, Chase Conrad, Nathan Vibbert, Jacob Vibbert, Jack Vibbert, Zack Vibbert, Kaitlyn Vibbert, Levi Vibbert, Brayden Vibbert and Ricky Ryan Burris.

The funeral service was conducted on Monday, September 4, 2017 in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Struthers and Bro. Gary Cash officiating, with memories and reflections shared by family members and friends. Burial was in the Mud Camp Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Jerry Simpson, Eric Branham, Joe Franklin, John Franklin, John Simpson and Jack Simpson. Honorary Casket Bearers were member of the Marrowbone Volunteer Fire Department and other First Responders, Lenville Piercy, Joseph K. Portman, Jr., Michael Arms, Tyler Stalcup, Donna Portman, Jonathon Beams, Eddie Branham, Matt Thompson, Joseph Y. Portman, John Riley, Ray Whitaker, Gary L. White, Rickie Lee White, Lesel Turner, Greg Cary, Steven Dubree, Weldon, Rowe, Ricky Fletcher, Scot Daniels, Greg Cooksey, Steve Muse, and Jason Wray
