Lester K. Spears

Lester K. Spears, 77, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Lester was born on June 13, 1937 in Cumberland County, Kentucky to the late Millard and Pearl Riddle Spears. He was a retired employee of MKM Machine Tool Company in Jeffersonville, Indiana and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Spears and Ricky Spears, five brothers, Granville Spears, Austin Spears, Leslie Spears, Preston Spears, and J.E. Spears, and three sisters, Lizzie Ooten, Bonnie Johnson and Maxie Bowlin.

Survivors include two sons, Randall Spears of Indianapolis, Indiana and Adam Spears of Albany, three sisters, Linda Appleby of Burkesville, Shirley Stone of Gallatin, Tennessee and Mabel Carter of Campbellsville, three grandchildren, Brandi Powell, Randall Spears, Jr. and Michael Parrish, Sr., seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jordan, Tommy, Ashlei, Isaiah, Emily and Michael Parrish, Jr., special friends, Earl Wright and Mary Ann Elliott and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home with Bro. Don Davis officiating. Burial was in Burkesville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randall Spears, II, Brooklynn Spears, Brandi Powell, Earl Wright, Fred Carter and Darrell Spears.
