Lathenia Hutchison Cornett

Lathenia Hutchison Cornett, 84, of the Bow Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on Thursday, August 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Claude and Grace Mae Durham Hutchison. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Union Church and a Paper Mill Worker for Champion Paper Products. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Cornett, whom she married on Friday, September 11, 1953, her daughters, Rosalie Cornett Menard, Penny Nellums, her infant daughters, Shelia Cornett and Phillip Cornett, her sister, Mildred Asher, her brother, Elbert “Bud” Hutchison and her step-son, Billy Gene Breford.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie Johnson Sears of Pensacola, Florida, April (and Wayne) Ripley of Camden, Ohio, Arch (and Janice) Cornett of Eaton, Ohio, Thena Marie (and Denney) Young of Bow, Cynthia (and James) Lollie of Pensacola, Florida, Jeffrey (and Lesia) Cornett of Albany, Lisa (and David) Thacker of Bow, Steven Cornett of Rainbow City, Alabama, Martha (and Rick) Fruit of Henderson, her step-daughter, Carolyn (and Billy) McNichols of Trenton, Ohio, 35 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Elvin Milam and Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial was in the Perkins Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Benjamin Waid, David Waid, Jacob Lollie, Bryan Starnes, Tony Harris and James Cornett. Honorary Casket Bearer was Brandon Thacker.
