Jessie Ray “Flathead” Dyer, of Albany, Kentucky, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, having attained the age of 71 years, 8 months, and 14 days. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Thursday, May 30, 1946, the son of the late Jeff Franklin and Macie Shaw Dyer. He was of Church of Christ faith, attended Hanover Church of Christ, and was a Pallet Producer in the Timber Manufacturing Industry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kendra Sue Morgan, his brothers, James Edward Dyer, Terry Preston Dyer, Walter Franklin Dyer, and Danny Paul Dyer, and his nephew, Timothy Ray Dyer.
He is survived by his siblings, Shirley Jewell Beers, Margaret Vibbert of Burkesville, Josie (and Neal) Moss of Edmonton, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was conducted on Friday, February 23, 2018 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial followed in the Five Springs Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Ricky Dyer, James Dyer, Terrie Vibbert, Ryan Dyer, Steve Gilpin and Larry Flowers.
