Earl “Zip” Harris, 84, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Cumberland Valley Manor. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on October 2, 1930 to the late Sam Taylor and Iva Jewell Taylor Harris. Zip was a longtime mechanic in Burkesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hulse Harris and one brother, Hall Lee Harris.
Survivors include three Daughters, Joan Harris, Tammy (and Ernest) Anderson and Donna (and Dennis) Spears, all of Burkesville, two sons, Wayne (and Beverly) Harris of Sparksville and Stephen (and Carrie) Harris of Burkesville, eight grandchildren, Shawn Harris, Shanna Harris, Megan Acree, Mark Lee, Morrissa Spears, Trevor Harris, Tamara Harris and Ella Harris, three great grandchildren, Sidney Acree, Paislee Acree and Neila Harris and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Burkesville, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Reflections by Dennis Spears and Megan Acree. Pallbearers were Trevor Harris, Mark Lee, Billy Maxey, Russ Acree, Ricky Fletcher and Shawn Harris. Honorary pallbeareres were J. E. Bullock, Horace Capps, Judge David Williams and Truesdale Crawley. Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery.
Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
