Dora “Helen” Watson Barbour, 92, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2017. Helen was born September 16, 1924 at her home in Peytonsburg, Kentucky. She was a wonderful mother who never met a stranger, had a witty personality, great sense of style and was a talented seamstress. She was a member of Kenwood Church of Christ. Helen loved life and had a passion for all animals, especially her grand-dogs. She was also a 26-year breast cancer survivor.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Jack J. Barbour, her parents, Arnold Rainey Watson and Annie Coop Watson, brothers, Raymond Watson and Richard ‘Dick’ Watson, grandson, Michael Dunlap and her first husband, Aubrey Wesley Prince.
She is survived by her four children, Vickie Dunlap (Wayne), Dan W. Prince (Marty), Callie Barbour, and Jackie Bloyd (Phil); six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters, Robbie Ferguson, Chris Werner, and Patsy Dalton.
Services were held Friday, May 19, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home, Louisville.
