Bradford Clyde “Brad” Cope passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 67 years, four months and six days. He was born on Thursday, October 14, 1948 in the Cofer Community of Metcalfe County, Kentucky, the son of the late Verlie Trebor and Bertha Smith Cope. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War having attained the Rank of SP 5 (SGT.), was of the Methodist faith, and was a lifelong truck driver, having driven for Sharp Transport in Etheridge, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Otis Murrell Cope, Lonnie Edward Cope and Bedford Layne Cope, his father-in-law, Carlos Eugene “Gene” Green, and his brother-in-law, Neal Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Sue Green Cope of Marrowbone, his step-son, Michael Birdwell of Bakerton, his brother, Radford Wayne (and Marie) Cope of Burkesville, his sisters, Linda Faye Brown and Glenda Ray Wisdom, both of Edmonton, his mother-in-law, Naomi Ruth Green of Bakerton, his step-granddaughter, Taylor Pitcock, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Cash and Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Burial will follow in the Burkesville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Monticello D.A.V. Chapter Number 105.
